When friends Monica, Chandler, Ross, Rachel, and Phoebe moved on with their lives separately from each other, Joey has nothing else to do but continue with his on his own. He went to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career and be closer to his family. This is where the spin-off to the highly successful "Friends" started.
"Joey" aired its Philippine TV Premiere tonight at 8:30 PM in Studio 23. Of course, being a devoted "friend", I couldn't help but expect this show to be as good as the original, if not better. Unfortunately, it was disappointing pilot. There weren't enough funny scenes. If there were some, it was kinda "pilit". The characters weren't memorable. Although, Jennifer Collidge as Joey's agent, Bobby, stood out among the rest. She was really funny!
If this would continue through the rest of the season, "Joey" wouldn't last as long as "Friends" did. Didn't Warner/NBC realize that the six characters in "Friends" were great together because they compliment one another? They were a team, therefore, couldn't stand alone. Joey wasn't even the most memorable character in "Friends", for chrissakes!
Anyway, let's just see whether things would go well in the upcoming episodes...
